The following data sets has been made accessible for others to use (see Files below).

Data set 1: "NFI-data"

Profile types: STR DNA

  • 49 three-person mixtures (one replicates each, variety of degradation)
  • 4 two-person mixtures (has four replicates each, non-degraded)
  • 4 three-person mixtures (has four replicates each, non-degraded)
  • 2 three-person mixtures (has four replicates each, very degraded)
  • 33 reference profiles

System:
The STR DNA profiles were generated using the NGM kit (Life Technologies) with 29 cycles and a 9700 thermal cycler (Life Technologies). Amplification products were separated by capillary electrophoresis (CE) on a 3130xl Genetic Analyzer (Life Technologies) at 3 kV for 5 s. The results were analyzed with GeneMapperĀ® ID-X Software v.1.1.1 (Applied Biosystems) using a marker specific stutter filter as described in Westen et.al. (2014)[1]. Alleles with peak heights below 50 relative fluorescence units (RFU) were removed.

Acknowledgement:
Professor Peter de Knijff from Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands, provided the profiles and made them accessible.
